Timba & Cuban Funk Night is making its comeback to the Kava Lounge
after a long hiatus. Now Timberos and dancers of all walks can get their
fill for Cuban music at the Kava Lounge. It's a simple thang: Cuban
music & Timba spinning from 9pm till 1am on Tuesday, May
1st. It's going to be Timba ("Cuban salsa"), Rumba, Cuban funk, Son
& Reggaeton from Cuba. Maybe some other stuff mixed in there, too.
No dress to impress, no crazy acrobatic dance spin show offs, no
attitudes. Come dressed in whatever the hell you are comfortable in to
get your rumbeo a lo Cubano! Seriously, you dance better with flip
flops? That's cool!
Yours truly will be spinning the hottest
Timba and Cuban music all night. What do you need to do? Get your butt
down there, buy a drink at the bar to support the folks at Kava, and
enjoy the music. Dance with a partner, dance by yourself, it's whatever
you wanna make it.
$5 at the door. 21 and up. Music starts at
8:30pm and goes till midnight. No class-this is a straight music night,
and there will be dancers of all levels, experienced and people just
exploring the awesome sounds of Cuban music.
