CURUYE's CUBAN SALSA TIMBA DANCE PARTY with DEEJAY WARAPO celebrates CUBAN MUSIC & DANCE, and this month 'las aguas', the deities of the sea, and of the rivers and lakes, from Cuba's Yoruba tradition.

At 5:30 PM, KATI HERNÁNDEZ will teach some traditional Afro Cuban movements that are sometimes incorporated into popular Cuban dance.

In addition to dancing CASINO (Cuban salsa), we'll be also dancing some fun and funky reggaetón lines throughout the evening!

September brings a lot of birthdays to celebrate!  KARLA MICHELLE, ALMA ÁLVAREZ, RICARDO SALAZAR, JESÚS ORNELAS, AFIMAYE GALARRAGA, PEDRO 'MUÑECO AGUILAR... will be among those dancing the birday dance! If you have a September birthday that you would like to celebrate, let Curuye know!

Plan on sharing a meal with your friends from The Granada's kitchen! The Granada's staff provides table service with a menu that includes salads, sandwiches, and entrées!

Consider wearing yellow/gold, and/or blue: the colors of Ochún, and Yemayá, the water goddesses we will be honoring today!

EscoRueda Level 1 Beginners Rueda Series - Starts Oct.8th

Greetings Everyone!
Registration is now open for new students to learn Rueda de Casino (a Cuban social dance done in a circle switching partners). 

Here are the details:

WHAT: LEVEL ONE Beginners Rueda Series: 
DATES: October 8, 15, 22 & 29

WHEN: Tuesdays 7:00pm-8:30pm are instruction; and Fridays 7-8pm rueda practice of the Tuesday's instruction; 

LOCATION: Private dance studio in Escondido! 1717 S. Iris Lane, Escondido, CA 92026

HOW TO REGISTER FOR LEVEL 1: Click this link to register for the series and then pay on the first day. 
Registrations accepted until the day of the first class. NO DROP-IN's after Oct 8th.

The DANCE FLOOR will be  SIZZLIN’ at CURUYE’s AUGUST CUBAN SALSA TIMBA DANCE PARTY! DEEJAY WARAPO will be hot back from Havana after guest dj’ing at CUBA’s ’FESTIVAL de la TIMBA and LOS VAN VAN’s 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION! We’ll be dancing to the latest CUBAN SALSA! TIMBA! REGGAETÓN!

KATI HERNÁNDEZ will kick off the party teaching some Cuban dance moves to spice up your dancing at 5:30 PM. To add to the evening’s activities, KAREN POWELL, AMY HARTENDORP, RUBY ROJAS, TAMI GUNTON-NAVARRO, & MARTIN GUNTON-NAVARRO will be dancing the birthday dance and sharing some cake with you! (If you would like to celebrate your August birthday, please message Curuye.)

AND, by coming out to dance today, you’ll be helping some students! As customary in August, Curuye will make a donation for school supplies from the party’s proceeds to The 5 Keys Covenant House shelter for homeless youth. 

The Granada’s Chef Israel has entrées, sandwiches, and salads to energize hungry dancers!
