KATI HERNÁNDEZ will be leading an AFRO TIMBA class, showing how Cubans give flavor to their CASINO (CUBAN SALSA) with influences from Afro Cuban dance legacies. You won't want to miss her 5:30 PM class!

Havana D' Primera Concert in LA - Thurs, Oct 24th

It's caravan time to head up north to Los Angeles and watch one of the best bands in Cuba, Havana 'Primera.

Alexander Abreu y Havana D’ Primera is the Cuban Timba band directed and founded by Alexander Abreu in 2008, widely recognized as one of the greatest trumpet players of his generation - enriching most of the musical productions on the island. The band was formed by a collective of the best musicians and Cuban-All-Stars artists in the current Cuban scenario, including not only revolutionary dominating musicians in the 90’s but also the most talented musicians of the upcoming years.

In essence, if you know the basics, intermediate and advanced moves are a combination of the basic casino moves.

CURUYE's CUBAN SALSA TIMBA DANCE PARTY with DEEJAY WARAPO celebrates CUBAN MUSIC & DANCE, and this month 'las aguas', the deities of the sea, and of the rivers and lakes, from Cuba's Yoruba tradition.

At 5:30 PM, KATI HERNÁNDEZ will teach some traditional Afro Cuban movements that are sometimes incorporated into popular Cuban dance.

In addition to dancing CASINO (Cuban salsa), we'll be also dancing some fun and funky reggaetón lines throughout the evening!

June's installment of Casino on Concrete is our second time being there with an awesome view!  If you haven't been here before, you don't want to miss this place. The last time we went here, we had a dancing friend who brought his drone and took a video of us dancing at Powerhouse Park. We'll be there. Hike n Rueda at Volcan Mountain Trail - Sun. May 26th

Grab your hiking boats and your moves, and JOIN US on the Volcan Mountain Trail! Let's get out in nature and do some Ruedas. If you haven't been on this trail, it is very scenic and you can see into the Anza Borrego Desert.  Plenty of places to dance rueda on this hike. Don't forget to bring a camera!

Are You Ruedy Casineros?!

That's right mi gente! It's the April installment of Casino on Cardboard and this time on AstroTurf and back in Solana Beach at our favorite spot.  Come dance with us to our favorite music (timba)  and join in on some ruedas, salsa suelta and just plain on-on-one casino dancing. The sun will set a little after 7:15pm so there will be plenty of sunshine and a cool Pacific breeze to enjoy.

Maritza's Summer 2019 Beginner Level 1 Class registration now open - Starts Tues. Jun 4th

Greetings Amigos & Casineros,
I have just opened registration for my Beginner Level 1 Series from brand new dancers and anyone who wants to go through it again to hone in on the footwork and dance communication with your partner. The series is the beginning series of a 4 to 5-month commitment all the way to basic intermediate. Each month is a level and the teaching build off the previous month of training. So if you are ready to jump in, this is your one chance this year as this will be the only entrance to learn as a beginner for the remaining of the year, so don't procrastinate.
