ABOUT FREILA:   Freila Merencio Blanco is a former female lead soloist in Havana, Cuba's renowned folkloric company, Raices Profundas (Deep Roots).   She has toured internationally as a dancer and singer in France, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Nicaragua, Mexico and Japan.  She also performed as a dancer and background vocalist with the highly popular Cuban Rumba group, Yoruba Andabo.  [Fun Fact:  Freila Merencio Blanco was Master Artist Juan Carlos Blanco's former dance partner in Havana, Cuba for 8 years]
