THIS IS IDEAL FOR SALSA, BACHATA, SWING, KIZUMBA, AND ANY KIND OF DANCERS! ***MUST KNOW BASIC SALSA STEP AND CROSS-BODY LEAD*** Learn the fundamental basic elements, lots of variations and the combinations that make up “Rueda de Casino".

IS A PARTNER REQUIRED?
A partner is not required for this class, but highly suggested. Be prepared to share your partner with everyone. All dancers will be in a circle changing partners frequently during the dance.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:
Guest instructors Robert Morales and Laura Cristina have been dancing Rueda de Casino for the past 15 years, they have been part of Rueda de Casino performance groups and have taught workshops locally and at Salsa Congresses. They are the founders and instructors of Rueda in the Park-Santa Ana where they have been hosting their weekly beginner level and intermediate level classes for almost four years. They recently traveled to Havana, Cuba to take lessons from Cuban dance instructors and to meet the founders of Rueda de Casino in Havana. They are very excited and eager to teach and share their love for Rueda de Casino with everyone!

ORISHAS, the Cuban hip hop band that formed in 1999, and immediately took the world by storm with ORISHAS A LO CUBANO, is back on tour! Members YOTUEL ROMERO, RUZZO MEDINA, and ROLDÁN GONZÁLEZ, based in Europe, have reunited after an eight-year split, and will be performing again in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 3 at the REGENT!  Oakland's LOS RAKAS kicks off the evening at 8 PM. 18 years and over. SPREAD the WORD!

San Diego's 1st TIMBA-THON!  Join us for a night in Timba heaven with Casino Line-Dances, Plenty of room for Ruedas, Timba suelta and even Conga lines...why not?!!!  Plus a Couples Casino Dance Contest!!

The Casino Dance Contest is couples only.  Choreography isn't required, but if you have one, show us what you've got!  We just want to know who can Timbear' the best!  No applications needed. Just let us know at the door if you want to participate as contestants, and you'll be assigned a number. Dance Contest will start at 8pm. If you plan to participate, please arrive before then.
