What better way to celebrate 4th of July Independence Day than dancing under the stars with timba from Maritza's boom box, picnic with dancing friends, glow in the dark rueda, and fireworks! This is a free outdoor event at California Center of the Arts in Escondido to celebrate 54th Annual Independence Day Festival and Fireworks! Anyone can join this event. Let's dance and enjoy the 4th of July in Escondido together!!

Casino on AstroTurf at Solana Beach - Sat. June 24th

Are You Ruedy Casineros?!
That's right mi gente! It's the June installment of Casino on Cardboard but this time on AstroTurf and back in Solana Beach at our favorite spot. Let's dance, and have fun on the Astroturf. This place has one of the best views of the ocean, so bring your camara! Who wants to play Lethal Rueda!!

Come dance with us to our favorite music and join in on some ruedas, salsa suelta and just plain on-on-one casino dancing. The sun will set a little after 8pm so there will be plenty of sunshine and a cool Pacific breeze to enjoy.

Maritza's Rueda Performance Training Intensive for Tizitozaa Recital Begins Monday, June 5th

Greetings Everyone!!
It's that time of the year to train up for rueda de casino performances for the summer. I am looking for 10 follows and 9 leads to perform in a one of a kind rueda de casino performance. This is a 5-week-3x's-times-per-week commitment. Some of you might have seen my choreography piece from the San Diego Cuban Dance Congress. I am aiming this performance for folks who took my Beginner's level 1, 2 & 3 or have performed before in a rueda dance team. This performance will be showcased at the Tierra Caliente Academy of Arts Semi-Annual Dance Recital called Ticitozaa at the California Center of the Arts in Escondido. This will also be the performance I take to the Tri-Cities Salsa Congress in Eastern Washington and will need willing participants to come with me to this fun dance congress.
