Timba Dance Party, Rueda Workshop & Mega-Rueda in San Diego (Carlsbad)- Sat. Mar. 26

SAVE THE DATE! Saturday, March 26th. Finally we are going to have a timba dance party in San Diego with a DJ playing  Timba/Son/Cubaton and its all rueda, casino and a little salsa suelta. PLUS there will be a Rueda de Casin  workshop lead by Ercan Derekoy. 

Ercan Derekoy is known on the other side of the world as a well-known rueda de casino instructor. He moved to San Diego in early 2014; Maritza and Orlando's neighbor in Vista coincidentally!! He has his own YouTube Channel with samples of his instruction,  leading a rueda, teaching a casino workshop and dancing socially in Cuba. He trained and studied casino in Cuba academically on the history and dance form with Barbara Balbuena. His passion lies in the casino dances of the 30's, 40's & 50's. He is also a musician (pianist) his rueda expertise is in teaching technique (body positioning, partner-hand communication and dance form).

Friday Roving Rueda Practice in Escondido - Fri. Apr 1st

Come and dance a little rueda de casino with Maritza's beginner rueda casineros! We are taking the rueda practice outside to different places around North County San Diego. Let's have some fun dancing and celebrating the beginning of the weekend.

Casino on Concrete at Moonlight Beach - Sat. March 5th

We are going outside to dance casino and rueda de casino outside. That's the way we do it in San Diego for timberos, casineros and salseros! The one event you can hear timba non-stop on the playlist.  This time we will be dancing on "concrete" at Moonlight State Beach in Encinitas. 

So come out get your beach chairs and snacks to share and we will dance during sunset time. We will be located near the bathrooms on the concrete. Check out the event page photo. If the lookout point is available we will move there but for now, we will be next to the concession stand. Just follow the music.

That's right, you read it correctly, Maritza has a NEW rueda class in ESCONDIDO! She will be teaching a 4-week Series Beginner LEVEL 1 Rueda de Casino class. This means no drop in's accepted. 

To sign up: please complete this Registration Google Form and then pay cash on the first day of the class. Registrations accepted until the day before the class starts. SERIES DATES: TUESDAY NIGHTS FROM 6:00pm-7:30pm
LEVEL ONE Series: Feb 16, 2016 - March 8, 2016 (this include a public rueda practice on Fridays)
