Greetings Casineros and Amigos!
On April 7th at 4:00pm ALL AROUND THE WORLD, there will be a scheduled rueda de casino flash mob in major cities in just about every country around the globe. If you don't believe me, check out the website titled International Rueda De Casino Multi Flash Mob Day
I have registered our San Diego based rueda de casino flash mob participation for Oceanside. Our flash mob location is in the busiest part of Oceanside by the beach. Tons of tourists walk around this place especially because there is an Ironman race happening. THE FLASH MOB LOCATION IS A SECRET.
THE REHEARSAL LOCATION IS NOTED ON THIS POST
Here are the details:
What: Rehearsal for Rueda de Casino Flash Mob in Oceanside
Where: Pacific Street Linear Park, click this link for Google Map directions
When: Picnic will begin at noon, it's a potluck bring some snacks to share, we will have the sound system set up so we can get started warming up and social dancing
Rehearsal time is 2:00pm and the Flash Mob is at 4:00pm
STRUCTURE OF THE FLASHMOB CHOREOGRAPHY:
TIMBA SONG is 5 minutes and 30 seconds
Everyone MUST be paired. No solo dancers this time.
The First 1/3 - Advanced group -preselected
The 2nd 1/3 - Intermediate group - identified
The 3rd 1/3 - Beginners - identified
THREE Callers for each level
We will need a couple of videographers because we need a few folks to videotape.

Below is a map with markers to tell you where we plan to be for the pre-party/picnic & flash mob practice as well as the flash mob sites.
Here is the scheduled itinerary:
12noon-2pm Pre-party picnic/Potluck & some dancing; warm up
2pm-3:30pm - Flashmob practice
3:30pm-4pm - "flash mobbers" walk to the site #1 and Pretend to do the following typical pier-going activities: fishing, take pictures like a tourist, watch the surfers on the water, eat some ice cream, hang out with friends talking about the movie you just saw, play hacky sack, skateboard down the ramp or just bring a skateboard, take your dog for walk, etc. You get the idea.
This is NOT for brand new people who have not taken a rueda class yet. It is a flash mob for casineros taking classes already and know basic beginner moves and intermediate moves.
Here is the list of moves, if you do not recognize some of the calls do not worry we will be going over them on Saturday at 2pm sharp. Everything is fairly simple to allow an opportunity for all levels to join us.
*Intermediate group will be pre-selected on Saturday. Intermediate group will begin approaching the Rueda after El space needle con vuelta, at the DQN point, you will jump into the Rueda while the advance group is in son montuno, the advance group will demonstrate on Saturday*
