Can you believe it's already December!?? Come dance and practice your rueda moves this Friday at Grape Day Park. This will be the LAST RUEDA PRACTICE of the year. Maritza's Rueda Practice in Escondido (Doug's Studio) - Sun. Nov 27th

In an effort to keep you dancing and burning the calories from Thanksgiving dinner, I am hosting a long rueda practice. We were going to meet outside but because of the rain, we will need to do it indoors. Also Tim's rueda de casino classes is cancelled so we can still meet for a structured time for beginners and intermediates to review the moves from this last week's instruction.

Hike & Rueda at Monserate Mtn. in Fallbrook - Sat. Nov 19th

If you are crazy like me, that can't just get one workout with just rueda de casino but double the workout with an intense hike, then try this challenge. We are meeting up at 9am at Monserate Mtn Trailhead in Fallbrook to go on a 3 hours hike. Seven inclines, incredible views and rueda any chance we get.

We are collaborating with the host of Salsa on the Beach to participate. So if you want to dance rueda de casino or just dance one-on-one casino, then this a great opportunity to get your dance on! There is a possibility we will bring the cardboard for a casino-on-cardboard timba section at this party. More details to come if we need your help!

Maritza's Monday Beginner's Rueda de Casino Level One 4-Week Class Series. Starts Up Mon. Nov. 14th

Yes, it's true! I have a new beginners rueda de casino class starting up in Vista.  My class is integrated with the Soy Bella Fitness Program. This is a Level One Beginners Track for the next four Mondays. To learn more about Maritza's class curriculum, click this link.

WHAT IS RUEDA DE CASINO?  This is Cuban-style salsa in a circle switching partners. If you have never seen this dance before, click this video link to see a random, not choreographed,  rueda de casino circle lead by Maritza Baida when she was in Seattle. This dance will give you a workout, and actually prevents Alzhiemer's. The dance does improves your memory, and you will learn some Cuban Spanish,  and the biggest reason people love it is because people you meet are from all walks of life, people you would have never imagined you would meet (the diversity awareness is huge in this dance. WATCH, you will be addicted!!

COST for Nov 14th-Dec 5th series: $40.00 for the 4 weeks class series. This fee will pay your 4 week rueda class & membership to the Soy Bella Fitness program for the year. It's a 2-in-1 deal. Then in the next series per month, it is $25 a calendar month This is ONLY if you pay for this particular series(ex. $25 for January, $25 for February, etc. for one year). The $25 a month may not match up to the rueda class series. No DROP IN.

Brand NEW dancers starting in January 2017 will need to pay $40 membership (required), PLUS $25 for the Rueda class - TOTAL $65, then each following calendar month is $25 a month. Membership will be good for one calendar year.

The Park is located next to the Center for the Arts.  This is an outdoor rueda practice with the beginner's rueda and an intermediate level practice from this week's instruction. Come ready to sweat and repeat repeat repeat the footwork.

Maritza's Beginner Level 2 Rueda de Casino Registration Now Open- Starts Tues. Nov 15th

This one-month rueda de casino class series in Escondido is for dancers who have excelled in Beginner Level 1. If you have not yet found the beat, or feel your footwork is not automatic muscle memory for guapea, dame, dile que no, enchufla and adios, then take the Monday class in Vista for more training and do NOT sign up for Level 2 yet.

LEVEL 2 BEGINNERS MUST have strong proficiency and timing down for the following rueda commands: Guapea, Dile Que No, Dame, Enchufla, Adios(Prima), Echeverria, Matala series, Un Fly series and a few enchufla add-on's). This registration form is for the following dates: WE'RE MOVING IT A HALF HOUR EARLY!!!
Tuesday nights from 6:00pm-8:00pm; includes a public rueda practice on another day after class)
LEVEL TWO CLASS SERIES DATES:  Due to the Holiday Week in November & December, practice sessions are different days and times after class instruction.
