Fiesta Del Sol going on in Solana Beach. Last minutes decision to host our May installment of Casino on AstroTurf this Saturday at our favorite spot (Fletcher Cove Beach Park on the AstroTurf) on Saturday, May 30th! Join us for some fun ruedas, salsa suelta and just plain old on-on-one casino dancing. Bring your camera to capture the sunset while we dance. When we did this last year on Fiesta Del Sol weekend, we had a lot of people there. Let's do that again!

Los Van Van Concert at the Conga Room in LA - Thurs. Aug 13th

That's right! I said it! The Cuban band we all have been waiting for to play in Southern California. For those who are new to the Cuban dance scene, Los Van Van are world famous and have been the driving force of quality Cuban salsa music since the 70's. In 1999, Los Van Van won a Grammy (Latin/Best Salsa Performance) for their album Llego Van Van. Read up on this amazing orquestra by clicking here. Last year on May 1st 2014, their band leader, director and composer, Juan Formell, passed away. Cuba mourned his passing as a huge loss to the entire island. In a posthumous effort to celebrate the contributions of Juan Formell, Los Van Van recorded and released a new album called Homenaje Formell - La Fantasia(2014).

We will be dancing on the concrete this time at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. Sorry! I had to change it because my car is not reliable and that is my only way to carry the cardboard.
